What does Dhamma Dipa Circle (DDC) mean? Dhamma : Teachings of the Buddha Dipa : Light or Island Circle : Gathering, implies a communal aspect of learning among facilitators, parents and young children / teens. Dhamma Dipa Circle (DDC): Light of Dhamma, is the Dhamma Learning Program for children to cultivate spiritual growth and wisdom.
How is DDC different from Sunday Dhamma School (SDS)? DDC emphasizes on interactive and experiential learning approach. It is more student-centred as compared to SDS.
Where is the venue for DDC program ? Kinrara Metta Buddhist Society (KMBS) B-G-02, Jalan Bangau 11, Bandar Puchong Jaya, 47170 Puchong Selangor.
When is the DDC program? DDC will be held every Sunday from 9.30am to 12 noon. (Except for public holidays and school holidays) During school holidays, Kids Camp and Teens Camp will be conducted. Age Group Class Name: 7 to 12 – Metta 13 to 16 – Rahula Parents & Adults -Ananda
What are the criteria to join DDC? (a) Children / teens from the age of 7 to 16 and adults. (b) They are able to understand simple English. (c) Able to commit their time for the regular Sunday classes. (d) At least one parent must be present at KMBS during DDC classes. There are adult Dhamma classes running concurrently with DDC.
My child has disability, can he/she join DDC? Consideration will be given on case-by-case basis. Please talk to our facilitators.
If my children are under 7 years old or above 16 years old, can they join DDC? We shall open the DDC program for pre-school children if the request is more than 10 pax. Youths above 16 years old will be joining KMBS Youth (Metta-Mitras).
How do you conduct DDC? Students shall join the Sunday puja service. After puja, students will proceed to their respective classes. The facilitators will have ice-breaking and mindfulness/ loving-kindness practice. There will be sharing of stories, case studies & discussions, hymn singing, creative art and role-play games. Students are encouraged to speak up during classes. Group activities and projects are included to foster teamwork and leadership. Home practice will be assigned to enhance the learning experience.
How much do I need to pay for joining DDC? Registration fee of RM50 per annum is charged for each student upon registration. No lesson fees are accrued to the students per month as the classes are funded by generous donations of KMBS members and well-wishers. For special program that require specific charges (e.g. entrance fee for visits, transport and meals), parents are required to pay for their participating children.

If I do not have any school-going kids, how can I contribute to DDC? You can contribute in various ways:
Serve as the facilitators or ad-hoc volunteers (training will be provided)
