Metta Loving Kindness day (20 June 2024)

Metta Day, also known as the Day of Loving-Kindness, is a special day dedicated to the practice of Metta with our Kalyanamitta on the Full Moon Day. The purpose of Metta Day is to deepen our Dhamma practice by cultivating and expressing loving-kindness towards oneself and others. It is a time to develop goodwill, compassion and a sense of interconnectedness with all beings.

Please join us on Thursday, 20 June 2024, from 9.30am to 3.00pm at KMBS. We are honored to have Bhante Dr G Chandima share a Dhamma Talk at 1.30pm on β€œDying with Concerns: Nakulapitu Sutta (AN 6.16)” and provide us the opportunity to offer Dana.

If you wish to offer Lunch Dana, please bring Cooked Vegetarian Food and Fruits to KMBS by 10.30 am.

Biodata of Bhante Dr G Chandima:

Bhante Dr. Gangodawila Chandima is the Associate Editor of the Journal of International Buddhist Studies (JIBS), which is published by the Buddhist Research Institute of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Thailand. He was previously a research fellow at the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society (CSRS), University of Victoria, Canada.

Bhante Dr. Chandima was also the Theravada Buddhist Chaplain at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, from 2012 to 2016. Bhante is currently the senior advisor to Patisota, a virtual dhamma organization that hosts a weekly online Pali Reading Class, Sutta discussions, dhamma talks, and a variety of other dhamma activities.
